Set up OpenAI API access
AI Product Content uses your own OpenAI API account. Before configuring the add-on, make sure you have API billing enabled and create a secret API key. OpenAI API billing is separate from a ChatGPT subscription.
- Sign in to the OpenAI API Platform.
- Open API billing and add payment details / API credit if required for your account.
- Open the API Keys page and choose Create new secret key.
- Copy the key when it is shown. Keep it private; the full secret key is not shown again later.
- Paste the key into mAIndware AI Content → Settings → OpenAI.
1. Installation
AI Product Content is installed as a standard CS-Cart add-on. Download the installation package supplied through CS-Cart Marketplace and install it from the CS-Cart administration panel.
- Sign in to the CS-Cart administration panel.
- Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons.
- Use the add-on upload/install function and select the mAIndware AI Product Content ZIP package.
- Complete the installation and make sure the add-on status is ON.
- Open the add-on settings to complete the initial configuration.
2. Initial setup
After installation, open the mAIndware AI Content settings. The first configuration step is to select the store's native content language and, if required, up to three additional translation languages.
The Native language is the master language used for product content generation and management. Translation languages are the additional languages into which the generated content can be translated. Only active CS-Cart languages are available for selection.
3. Connect your OpenAI API key
Open the OpenAI tab in the add-on settings and enter your own OpenAI API key. AI Product Content uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model, so API usage is billed directly to your OpenAI account and is separate from the mAIndware add-on license.
4. Using AI Product Content
The add-on works directly inside the normal CS-Cart product administration workflow. Open the product you want to work with; there is no need to export it to a separate AI application.
The mAIndware commands are available from the product actions menu. Depending on the task, you can prepare complete product content, translate content, find product images or train AI using an existing description.
5. Prepare with AI
Prepare with AI is the main workflow for turning limited product data into usable store content. In many cases the product name and manufacturer part number are enough for the system to identify the product, research relevant information and prepare a structured description.
- Open the product in CS-Cart.
- Make sure the product name and identifying manufacturer/model information are available.
- Open the product actions menu and choose Prepare with AI.
- Review the generated result before saving or publishing it.
The generated result can include an improved product name, introductory text, technical information, structured specification lists and other product-category-relevant information. The administrator remains in control and can edit the result before it is saved.
6. Languages & translation
AI Product Content supports one native language and up to three additional translation languages. Product content is translated from the configured native language into the selected additional languages while preserving the intended structure and product information.
Configure the languages once in the add-on settings. Translation can then be started directly from the product actions menu using Translate with AI.
7. AI functions
Product research & descriptions
Research product information online and generate structured descriptions using the product identity and available store data. For many products, a clear product name and manufacturer part number are sufficient to start.
Images AI
Search for product images using manufacturer, model and product identifiers. The image-search system can learn which websites are useful sources for particular products and manufacturers, helping improve future searches.
Translate with AI
Translate existing or newly generated product content into the additional languages configured in the add-on settings.
Train AI
Teach the system your store's preferred content style with a simple example-based workflow. Select an existing product description you consider a good example and start training. The system analyzes its structure, writing style, naming conventions and technical formatting and applies the learned style to future generated content.
SEO-oriented content
Generated content uses relevant product identity, model information, specifications and terminology to create structured, product-specific content suitable for search-engine indexing and organic visibility.
8. FAQ & Troubleshooting
This section explains not only how to solve common problems, but also how AI Product Content makes its decisions. Understanding the inputs used by each function usually makes it much easier to improve the result.
Q: The generated description is too generic. How can I make it more detailed and match my store?
A: Create or edit one product of the same type so that its description represents the result you want. Then use Train AI on that product and use the learned product-type instructions for future products of the same type.
During training, the system analyzes the example instead of requiring you to write a long prompt manually. It can learn the description structure, writing style, naming conventions, technical-information format and the type of information that should be emphasized.
Q: What information does Prepare with AI use to identify and research a product?
A: The system starts from the product information available in CS-Cart. The most useful identifiers are normally the product name, manufacturer/brand and manufacturer part number (MPN). A clear MPN is especially valuable because it helps distinguish similar models and configurations.
AI uses these identifiers to research the product and collect relevant information before preparing the content. The generated description is therefore not based only on the original supplier text. The exact amount of information found depends on how clearly the product can be identified and what reliable product information is available.
Q: AI cannot identify the exact product or generates information for a similar model. What should I check?
A: First check the product name and manufacturer part number. Remove supplier-specific internal codes from the product name when they can be confused with the manufacturer's model code, and make sure the real manufacturer/brand is clear.
For products with many closely related versions, include the exact model, MPN or other identifying configuration information before running Prepare with AI again. Always review generated technical data before publishing it.
Q: How does Images AI search for product images?
A: Image search is based on product identity rather than a single fixed search phrase. The system can use the product name, manufacturer and manufacturer code/MPN to look for images that belong to the correct model.
It also learns from successful previous searches. When useful images have previously been found on particular websites or source addresses for a manufacturer or product type, those learned sources can be used as additional places to search in future requests. This allows image search to become more targeted over time instead of starting completely from zero for every product.
Q: Images AI finds irrelevant images. How can I improve the result?
A: Check whether the product has an exact manufacturer name and MPN/model code. Generic names such as “black laptop” or supplier-only codes provide much weaker identification than a manufacturer model and exact part number.
If the product has several visually different variants, make the identifying variant information clear before searching. The system can use learned source information to improve where it searches, but accurate product identity remains the most important input.
Q: How does Translate with AI work?
A: Translation always starts from the Native language configured in the add-on. The content can then be translated into up to three additional languages selected in the settings.
This makes the native-language product content the master version. If the source content needs correction, it is normally better to correct the native version first and then generate the translations again.
Q: A language I need is not available in the translation settings. Why?
A: The add-on only offers languages that are active in your CS-Cart store. Enable the required language in CS-Cart first, then return to the mAIndware settings and select it as one of the translation languages. The Native language cannot also be selected as a translation language, and the same translation language should not be selected more than once.
Q: Does Train AI copy the example description to every product?
A: No. The purpose of training is to learn the rules and style behind the example, not to copy its product facts. Future descriptions should follow the learned structure and presentation while using the actual information for the product being processed.
This is why training works best with a representative example from the same product type. A good laptop description is useful for teaching the preferred laptop structure; it should not cause specifications from that laptop to be reused for another model.
Q: Should I create extremely detailed Product-Type Instructions?
A: Usually not. Product-Type Instructions are most useful for requirements that genuinely matter to your store: preferred structure, naming rules, important technical fields, information that must be included or avoided, and category-specific conventions.
Over-defining every sentence and formatting detail can make generated content less flexible. The goal is to give AI clear store-specific guidance while still allowing it to adapt to the actual product and the information available for it.
Q: Why do I get an OpenAI API or billing error?
A: AI Product Content uses your own OpenAI API account. Check that the API key saved in the add-on is valid and that API billing is enabled for the corresponding OpenAI account. A ChatGPT subscription does not include OpenAI API usage.
If the key was replaced or revoked, create a new API key, update it in mAIndware AI Content → Settings → OpenAI and save the settings.
Q: Should I change the default AI model?
A: Keep the recommended default model unless you have a specific reason to use another supported model. Changing the model can affect output quality, processing time and API cost.
